GXL Wire - 60 Volt
GXL automotive primary hook-up wire is designed for high-heat applications and rated for up to 60V and 125°C (257°F), making it perfect for use in engine compartments. The overall diameters in this wire selection range from 0.114"–0.091" (14–18 AWG). Choose GXL wire to meet SAE J1128 requirements, and for a solution that is compatible with Ford ESB-M1L 85-B and Chrysler MS-8900.
What is GXL Wire?
GXL wire is an automotive primary hook up wire with a single conductor, rated for 60 volts. It is crafted from stranded copper conductors, protected by a thin-walled, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) layer of insulation.
GXL vs TXL Wire
The main difference between GXL wire and TXL wire is the thickness of the wire walls; GXL wire is much thicker, and therefore better suited to applications where sustained heat is expected. TXL wireis thinner, lighter, and more flexible, so for tight spaces, it’s a great choice. Both GXL wire and TXL wire are essential for anyone regularly working on automotive engine projects, from repairs, to upgrades, and restorations.
