A Family-Owned and Operated Business
Our family’s journey began with our parent company, Prem Magnetics, Inc., in 1978. Roger and Anne Liston, came to Prem with a vision to manufacture the highest quality transformers and coils. From modest beginnings in Johnsburg, IL, Roger built the foundation of what would become a cherished family legacy.
Over the years, each generation has played a vital role in shaping our company. Doug and Thomas Liston, Roger's sons, expanded our reach by moving to new markets and expanding our manufacturing footprint. Their dedication and innovation paved the way for the next chapter in our story.
Remington Industries was started in 1991 to serve the coil winding equipment market. Remington sold winding machines and accessories to customers all over the United States. In 2011, Remington began distributing and processing electronic and electrical wire products. Today, Remington Industries is a well-known wire distributor. An ever-expanding product line and increased production capabilities have provided steady growth, and Remington Industries is the largest in our family of brands.
Today, Josh and Sarah Hagen (Roger and Anne’s granddaughter), continue to uphold the values of hard work, integrity, customer-centricity, and community that have defined us from the start. Our team (including fourth-generation family members) is now enriched with new talent and ideas and remains committed to preserving the traditions that have brought us success while embracing the future with forward-thinking strategies.
Community Outreach
Josh and Sarah are both very invested in community outreach and work with many civic and local government organizations within Johnsburg to make a positive impact on the wider community. They also created Remington Farm and The Markets of Remington Farm, both of which help promote small businesses through the Remington Farm shop, and the monthly farmer’s market. Through Remington Farm, Josh and Sarah have also created a community garden, and have plans to give away over 15,000 pieces of fresh produce this year.
