Triple insulated wire is a winding wire construction that uses a single copper conductor covered in three distinct insulation layers. This modified ETFE insulation shields the conductor from short-circuiting, interwinding breakdown, and the mechanical stress of winding. This reinforced, three-layer insulation delivers voltage and dielectric performance, along with creepage/clearance compliance, beyond what single-layer magnet wire can provide. 26 AWG leans toward the finer end of our mid-range TIW gauges, well suited to compact transformer and medical device windings where space is at a premium. Its finer profile allows for higher turn counts within a given window area, useful for transformers requiring more precise turns ratios. This wire meets Class F service requirements (155°C/311°F) and carries several UL/IEC/VDE compliances and insulation system approvals, making it a fit for switching transformers, medical devices, and other components requiring rigorous regulatory compliance.
