As a general-purpose steel alloy that meets ASTM A276 specifications, stainless steel 304 can be easily welded or formed. With a high resistance to heat and corrosion, it will respond well to hardening by cold working and is an excellent choice for a wide range of projects. This stainless steel round rod has exceptional oxidation resistance when used in temperatures up to 1,600°F, thanks to being made up of 8 percent nickel and 18 percent chromium. More details:
