Magnet wire is copper wire with a thin layer of insulation, and is used in a variety of applications including transformers, wound coils, motors, solenoids, and instruments. Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on the National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW-80-C standard for operating temperature (155°C/311°F) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified Polyurethane with a polymide overcoat, and protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting.

Easy to work with, just what I needed

Posted by Jeff on Aug 2nd 2019

I have been looking for quite a while for heat (soldering iron) strip-able wire in a light gauge for PCB work. I reached out to Remington Sales and Larry got back with me immediately with a good description of what I was looking for. I purchased the wire (small purchase of an 8oz spool), and I was very pleased to have the wire in my hand extremely quickly. It is absolutely as described, just like the '70s when I was a board tech and I did "Greenwiring" of prototypes. Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks Larry! (and you too Joshua)!

    Exactly what I ordered

Super service for such a small purchase. whoever filled the order scrawled a little note with a “happy face” on the spool. Nice, personal touch in a cold, impersonal world. Made my day! Thanks.
