Magnet wire is copper wire with a thin layer of insulation, and it is used in a variety of applications including transformers, wound coils, motors, solenoids, and instruments. Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW 79-C or MW 80-C standard for operating temperature (155°C/311°F) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified polyurethane which protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting.

    My go-to wire....

    Winding pick-ups completely by hand as in no winding machine off any kind except your fingers is a long and delicate process. This is my go to wire for strat style single coils as under a jeweler's loop it is close enough in thickness to match formvar and much easier to work with while being just as sturdy. I just wish it had a red color coating option like the single build poly as it's easier on my aging eyes but that's a personal thing. 10 out of 10 will use again

    These folk run the best company, always available for help and guidance. There products are suoerb, and I live in Australia, so dealing with overseas companies cam bevery difficult sometimes. But not with Remington Industries
